Dr. Saji Varghese is Associate Professor in the Dept of English, Christ University, Bangalore He is the Board member of Incubation Cell, Christ University. He did his Ph.D in English from Nagpur University, Maharashtra and has an experience of 23 years teaching English language and literature at UG and PG level in Nagpur and Bangalore.
Besides his interest in exploring English language teaching pedagogies, he has a keen interest in grassroots innovation and entrepreneurship. He got the fastest patent granted in India in 2018 for his innovation of biodegradable straws from coconut leaves. His start up is leading to the employment of over 200 women in coastal India backed by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India.   Dr. Saji Varghese was invited to be part of the Hon’ble President of India’s Business Delegation to Philippines in October 2019. He recently won the Global Honey Bee Network Creativity and Inclusivity Innovation Appreciation Award organized through UNDP.
